Shaykh Said Seddouk
Shaykh Said Seddouk, also known as Shaykh Abu Haytham, has devoted his life to the study of Islam and to providing support and guidance to his community. As Director of Religious Affairs of the Islamic Center of San Gabriel Valley in Rowland Heights, California, for twenty years, Shaykh Seddouk oversaw all religious programs, activities, and workshops organized by the Islamic Center, and he developed an age-appropriate academic syllabus and teaching modules for the Islamic school. In addition, he regularly delivered Jummah (Friday) sermons, lectured on issues of theology, ethics, and inter-faith dialogue, and provided spiritually guided counseling to members of his community. His constant, cheerful presence through all of life's milestones has been a source of comfort and inspiration to his community.
Shaykh Seddouk obtained his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Islamic Studies from Mishkah University. He memorized the Holy Qur'an in its entirety according to the Hafs and Warsh recitation rules, and he has Ijazah on al-Mowataa of Imam Malik and Ijazah on Sahih al-Bukhari. He has also attended several specialized Fiqh seminars with the American Muslim Jurist Assembly (AMJA).
