
Qari Ahmed Burhan Mohamed
Qari Ahmed Burhan Mohamed was born on June 17th 2001 in Nairobi, Kenya and migrated to the United States at the tender age of one. He started his Islamic studies at the age of 5 and finished learning the hingaad (Arabic writing and reading rules) at the age of 7. At the age of 7 he started learning the Qur'an under the supervision of Shaykh Qari Abdinasir Farrah, who taught him the correct tajweed (pronunciation) rules. Qari Ahmed finished the Qur'an at the age of 9. After finishing he continued to perfect the Qur'an and memorized at the age of 13. Qari Ahmed attended his first ever competition held in Connecticut in May 2014. He placed 6th Alhamdulillah. He continued to perfect his memorization and recitation styles even more, to the extent that he won numerous national and international Qur'an recitation competitions, including in Kuwait, Sudan, MAS ICNA Chicago, MDA, Karmel and many more. After years and years of hard work, Qari Ahmed decided to participate in the largest Quran competition held in the world.
